In case you’re a fan of the hit series “Supernatural” and you only tune in now and then, you may be wondering about a few shadowy characters and their place in the scheme of the show. As the show enters its thirteenth season, there are two such names that people know the least about. Just who are Asmodeus and the Shedim on the show? Here is the information you need to answer your questions.
Asmodeus
We see Asmodeus appear early in the premiere episode of season thirteen. He was also included in the teaser trailer. He’s teh one that entered into the Throneroom of Hell wearing a white suit. He dresses stylishly and lets everyone in the room know that he’s about to take over management until Lucifer returns from his business. He calls himself the Prince of Hell. He puts a final end to all of the demons around who werren’t as loyal to Lucifer as they should have been in his opinion. This sends the message that the new season is going to see some changes taking place in Hell.
Asmodeus has a distinct Southern drawl. The demons who were left after his killing spree were given a history lesson into the relationship between Lucifer and Asmodeus. This is where we learn about the Shedim. He wanted to loose the Shedim on the world but Lucifer denied his request. When he went against Lucifer’s order, Asmodeus was punished which left his face scarred by Lucifer. He since came around and is the humble servant of Lucifer who showed him some form of mercy by allowing him to live. We discover that Asmodeus is a powerful demon.
The Shedim
The Shedim is one of the most evil monsters ever created. We learn that this is the pet monster of Asmodeus but it is one that Lucifer didn’t want loosed on the world just yet. Asmodeus hasn’t yet given up on his desire to let his nasty pet go out and play so there will likely be dramas emerging from this leg of the story line in the upcoming season. Raising the Shedim has been a hobby that Asmodeus has undertaken and it’s something hat he truly enjoys. They are supernatural monsters and it’s interesting that the name Shedim is actually a Jewish word that means demon. These pets of Asmodeus are kept improsioned and all that we really know about their appearance is what we’ve seenso far. A white hand with scary claws was shown crawling upwards fom the bowels of the earth prior to the prison snapping shut again.
Lucifer’s rationale
We have to guess at why Lucifer was less inclined to loose the Shedim on the world and the only thing that we can come up with is that it would just be one more thing for him to have to deal with. We know that these creatures are among the most terrifying and that they are extremely powerful and strong. Does even Satan himself have limitations? What will happen if Asmodeus gets his way and the Shedim is loosed on the earth? These are questions that seem reasonable and it also gives the writers a few new directions to take the show this season.
