What happens when you want to break up with someone but want to do it in a way that doesn’t hurt their feelings? That’s what Ben and Riley plan to do in this week’s episode of Baby Daddy.
Riley is getting tired of dating Ross (Eddie Cibrian) and is irked by his old man-like habits as well as the fact that he told his mother and everyone at the office about their relationship. The young lawyer later revealed that she is dating Ross to make Danny jealous. I can say with the utmost confidence that it’s working. Ben is dating his former high school biology teacher, Ms. Gilcrest so he can fulfill a personal fantasy, but couldn’t fathom that the latter starts her day at 6 am every day for no reason and that he’s scared of entering a committed relationship with her. Benjamin Bon Jovi Wheeler, she is a teacher, okay? Teachers start their days early so they can get to school and prepare for class. You being co-owners of the bar should know so don’t get all “I can’t believe this” on me!
It is also evident that Bonnie and Tucker have a problem when it comes to money. Bonnie shops when she feels stressed, Tucker has a keen interest in placing bets on certain things. Tucker convinces Bonnie to bet against Danny’s playoff game, she was hesitant at first but thinks that she would use the money to pay off her credit card debts. The two got lucky when Danny lost the first game, though when Danny started playing well one night, they start to panic about the results of their bet. Can I be the first to say “That’s karma for you”?
I was all smiles during the opening scene where Ben showed Emma his hard-earned high school diploma. The interaction between father and daughter are on point and funny. I especially love the handshake routine that they have made up in previous episodes. Brings a smile to my face every time.
As for Riley and Ben’s breakup plans, I worried that it would backfire. When they saw Ross and Ms. Gilcrest kissing on the Kiss Cam, I was applauding them in my mind. Riley then hinted to Ross that the only way that he can make up for breaking her heart is to make her Junior Partner at the law firm. Wonder if he will give her the promotion?
