ABC Family has announced the January return or premiere dates for four of its scripted dramas today. First up is the hit Pretty Little Liars, which has already been renewed for a fourth season that will begin in the summer of 2013. The show will be airing a special Halloween episode on October 23 and then will be on hiatus until January 8 at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT. According to the network, here’s what’s in store for the second half of the season: “Radley Sanitarium has given Mona a clean bill of health and she is headed back to the halls of Rosewood High, much to the Liars’ dismay. With their former tormentor now back in their everyday life, Aria, Emily, Hanna and Spencer take very different views of the “new” Mona. Sure she made their lives a living hell, but is she really cured? And what other secrets could she be holding onto? It is up to Mona to prove to the Liars if she has changed or not.”
Switched at Birth will also be returning for its second season on Monday, January 7 at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT. Season 2 “sees dramatic changes in the lives of the Kennish and Vasquez families as a result of the verdict in the baby switch trial. Gilles Marini joins the cast a series regular.”
Bunheads, meanwhile, will return on Monday, January 7 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT and will 10:00PM ET/PT and will pick-up a couple of months after Michelle left Paradise to try and return to her former life in Las Vegas.
Finally, The Lying Game will premiere on Tuesday, January 8 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT. According to the network: “As the twins’ saga continues in season two, there are more surprises, secrets and lies. The girls’ recently revealed birth mother Rebecca (Charisma Carpenter) lures Sutton (Alexandra Chando) into her plans for the Mercer family. Emma (Chando) grows closer to Thayer, while still being drawn to Ethan, who has started to reconnect with Sutton. Kristin feels betrayed after Ted came clean about his long ago affair with Rebecca, but Ted might be hiding even more shocking revelations. And Mads connects with a mysterious new guy in town who brings a whole new level of secrets with him.”
