“You break my record. Now I break you!” Remember the humongous Asian villain that appeared in just about every single Jean Claude Van Damme movie in history? He was the infamous Chong Li in Bloodsport and way before that played “Bolo” in Bruce Lee’s classic “Enter the Dragon.” In case you didn’t know, the real man’s name is Bolo Yeung. If you can actually believe it, Bolo is almost 70 years old. Yes, we/I everything is really getting older.
Currently the martial arts monster still lifts weights about two hours each day, and he regularly practices Tai Chi Chuan which is an internal Chinese martial art practiced for both its defense training and its health benefits.. Yeung is currently the chairman of the Hong Kong Gym Business Association, and the team manager of the Taipei International Body Building squad.
Quick story. About a decade ago a buddy of mine saw him at a club in Los Angeles and said that he was inappropriately hitting on young girls and was extremely scary looking in person. So he’s got that going for him…which is nice. Other than that I figured I would share a video that should and will bring back some nostalgia. Here’s to you Bolo Yeung and a lifetime of happiness.
